FAQ

Here are a list of frequently asked questions about the Elite Fitness Bootcamp experience.

Why is Elite Fitness Bootcamp/TEAM CrossFit superior to a traditional Gym Membership?

The modern Gym membership is no longer a viable solution for the working adult. The majority of full time workers do not have the time or energy to design an effective workout AND more importantly, stick to it. As a result, those who choose a gym membership typically fall into the same old routine. Isolate muscles, 3 sets of 12, add weight as you go, end with 20 minutes of "cardio." Your body adapts to this routine and produces little results

At Elite Fitness Bootcamp, we design all of the exercises for you and make sure that your routine is never the same. Constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity is what you will find here.

How is Elite Fitness Bootcamp/TEAM CrossFit different than lifting weights and running on the treadmill?

While weight training plays an integral role in increasing muscle mass, the traditional gym work out rarely meets these expectations due to a non-changing routine. In addition, many of the gym techniques for lifting weights challenge non-functional movements. For example, the dumbbell curl is typically executed with fixed arms to isolate the bicep. There is nothing in our every day life that requires this type of isolation, and many functional muscles are missed as a result.

There are so many "Bootcamps" in my area...why belong to Elite Fitness Bootcamp/TEAM CrossFit?

Because you deserve it. Elite Fitness Bootcamp/TEAM CrossFit is not just another cookie-cutter walk in the park. Our Instructors are not just any personal trainer wearing camoflauge pants. What we teach is not what you find in a normal gym...and the results you earn here are not typical of a mindless stumble through a gym.

Is Elite Fitness Bootcamp/TEAM CrossFit really for me?

"Absolutely! Your needs and the Olympic athlete's differ by degree not kind. Increased power, strength, cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, speed, accuracy, agility, balance, and coordination are each important to the world's best athletes and to our grandparents. The amazing truth is that the very same methods that elicit optimal response in the Olympic or professional athlete will optimize the same response in the elderly. Of course, we can't load your grandmother with the same squatting weight that we'd assign an Olympic skier, but they both need to squat. In fact, squatting is essential to maintaining functional independence and improving fitness. Squatting is just one example of a movement that is universally valuable and essential yet rarely taught to any but the most advanced of athletes. This is a tragedy. Through painstakingly thorough coaching and incremental load assignment CrossFit has been able to teach anyone who can care for themselves to perform safely and with maximum efficacy the same movements typically utilized by professional coaches in elite and certainly exclusive environments."
